Congresswoman González-Colón encourages veteran participation in the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Foundation’s Wall of Faces Initiative

June 1, 2021

May 31 2021, San Juan, Puerto Rico – Congresswoman Jenniffer González Colón is encouraging surviving family, friends, and neighbors to collaborate on the Wall of Faces initiative, which memorializes the more than 58,000 men and women who died during the Vietnam War and whose names are inscribed on the national memorial, in a searchable online platform.

Currently, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Foundation is seeking pictures of veterans from Puerto Rico to complement the current roster of pictures and information of soldiers from the Vietnam War. The Wall of Faces is missing pictures for 33 with a home of record in Puerto Rico.

"The sacrifices of the brave men and women who served in the Vietnam War cannot be forgotten. Vietnam Veterans are one of the largest veteran community on the Island. As such, memorializing those who have died because of their service, whether in combat or after they returned home, is critical. I am asking for the help of surviving family, friends, and neighbors to secure these veterans legacy and ensure they are accounted for together with fellow service members of this conflict," said González-Colón.

A list of the veterans, their home of record, branch of service, date of birth, and date of casualty is below. For the most up to date list, please visit https://www.vvmf.org/Wall-of-Faces/. For further assistance, please contact Mr. Tim Tetz of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial fund at 202-393-0090 (ext. 116) or by e-mail at TTetz@vvmf.org.
