Jenniffer González announces $ 35 million in federal funds for health, education and fishing

Congresswoman Jenniffer González Colón, announced several allocations of federal funds totaling $ 34,958,978 from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and the Department of Education.
The HHS Family and Children Administration allocated $ 3,222,603 to the SHS Diocese of Mayagüez Family Development Center under the Head Start and Early Head Start program and $ 90,600 to the Municipality of Manatí under Disaster Assistance funds to Head Start Centers.
This allocation is part of the funds for recovery from the impact of the hurricanes of 2017, which was included by the commissioner for Puerto Rico in the Bipartisan Budget Act of February 2018.
The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) approved the amount of $ 1,104,581 to the Municipality of San Juan for health services under the Health Center Cluster program.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA, for its acronym in English), granted the Caribbean Fisheries Management Board the amount of $ 727,989 for its budget request. The Caribbean Council assists the National Marine Fisheries Service to develop and monitor fishery management plans and regulations that affect US-controlled areas in the Caribbean.
The Department of Education allocated $ 29,813,205 to 17 institutions under the Emergency Assistance Program to Higher Education Institutions that provides emergency assistance to institutions of higher education (IHE) and their students in areas directly affected by disasters or covered emergencies.
The University of Puerto Rico Cayey Campus will receive $ 2,600,657.00; Pontificia Universidad Católica $ 4,400,000.00; the Center for Advanced Studies of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean, Inc $ 20,736.00; the University of Puerto Rico Mayagüez Campus $ 6,442,426.00; the University of Puerto Rico Aguadilla Campus $ 370,062.00; Atlantic University College, Inc $ 270,750.00.
EDIC College Inc. will receive $ 416,250.00; the School of Plastic Arts and Design of Puerto Rico $ 302,000.00; the Utuado Campus of the University of Puerto Rico $ 102,579.00; the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico in Orlando $ 57,465.00; Central University of the Caribbean, Inc. $ 2,428,000.00; Mech Tech College, LLC $ 761,750.00; Huertas College $ 142,720.00; Carlos Albizu University $ 88,250.00; the University of Puerto Rico Arecibo Campus $ 506,000.00; the Río Piedras Campus of the University of Puerto Rico $ 8,773,145.00; and Dewey University $ 2,130,415.00.
