Jenniffer González announces $ 7 million from FEMA for Justice, Police, National Guard and Inter-American University

Washington, DC - Resident Commissioner Jenniffer González Colón announced the approval of $ 7,031,238.21 in reimbursements from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for expenditures made by agencies, as well as institutions, for reconstruction and recovery work due to the impact of Hurricane Maria.
The funds that FEMA disburses come from assignments that the commissioner has worked since Congress, both with the Republican leadership and with the Democratic minority, through the budget projects or through the projects of supplementary assignments for disasters.
These funds are given under the Public Assistance program and are available once the recipients complete all the required documentation and after it is reviewed by the government.
The Inter-American University of Puerto Rico will receive $ 1,445,142.72 for the debris trail in its facilities.
The Department of Justice will receive $ 1,310,745.29 for the temporary relocation of its headquarters because of the impact of Hurricane Maria.
Under the pilot program of Alternative Public Assistance Procedures for Direct Administrative Costs (PAAP DAC), the National Guard of Puerto Rico will receive $ 2,719,154.85 and the Puerto Rico Police will receive $ 1,556,195.35.
